Who Says You Cannot Be Fashionlistic on Rainy Days?
A fun guide on what to wear and what not’s on those cold and wet, rainy days.
We always want to look fashionable no matter what season it is – who doesn’t, right? Rainy days are one of those days that you will have a tough time considering on what to wear. One of this is considering the materials our clothes and shoes are made of. You don’t want to wear suede shoes during rainy days as water can easily ruin it, or you do not want to wear leather without protectant either. Everybody knows what leather can look like upon getting wet. Below are some tips you should remember during the rainy days.
1. Remember to bring an umbrella
Who wants to get soaked in the rain, right? Remember to always bring an umbrella with you during these rainy days. It will always save you from those drastic events that may happen – like getting wet before going into your workplace! And remember, umbrellas don’t really need to be boring. Just take a look at some of our quirky and fashionable examples which we found at Umbrellas.net

Some of the umbrellas we set for examples are just a little too pricey but hey! You can always find a lot of cheaper ones at stores like eBay.
2. Trench Coats
(Tiffany Ruffle Trench Coat – $119.00, Topshop Paris Trench Coat by Jones and Jones** – $180.00, Burberry Double Breasted Packable Trench Coat – $750.00)
Trench coats are one of our must-haves for this cold and gloomy and wet weather, and by the way you can also wear it for any season. Burberry is a famous brand when it comes to trench coats but again remember, you do not always have to buy expensive ones. You can check out stores like Forever21 and H&M (our favorites!), or you can browse Shopstyle for trendy and classic Trench coats which are just enough for your budgets.
3. Rain Boots
Some may think this is odd and not-so-fashionable, but come one people! Fashion world has come to ideas on how to make these little “unfashionable” things look stylish! There are a lot of really cool, stylish, quirky, feminine rain boots out there – and they come in a variety of colors and prints which will suit any style you want!
(Madeline Women’s Puddles Rain Boot, Western Chief Women’s Ditsy Dots Rain Boot – $59.95, Sperry Top-Sider Pelican Floral Rain Boot – $59.95, Sperry Top-Sider Women’s Pelican Anchor Rain Boot – $59.95, Chooka Classic Rain Boot – $44.95)
4. Do not wear white jeans
This is absolutely a no-no during the rainy days. You don’t want to have mud puddles sticking at your pants, do you? As much as possible, you should wear dark colored jeans so that even if mud puddles do stick at your pants, it’s not too obvious.
5. Do not wear Sundress
I know lots of girls love wearing sundress, who doesn’t right? It makes you feel very feminine and oh-so-girly! But it’s not really appropriate to wear it during the rainy days. Hey! it’s called sundress for a reason right? This one is perfect for summer and sunny days though.
6. Do not wear Stilettos and Super High Heels
As much as possible, do not wear stilettos and those towering high heels, especially if you do not have a car. I know, they look really chic and feminine and of course girls do love it, but I won’t advice anyone to wear these on rainy days. Accidents such as slipping during the wet days are common, and you don’t want to fell flat and land on muddy and wet places – that is just a disaster!
7. Do not wear heavy make-up
My advice for every girl is not to wear heavy make-up during rainy days. I know a lot of you really want to look good, but please keep your make-up to minimal during these seasons. Your make-up might smudge and it won’t really look good. But if you really want heavy make-up, read our fashion tip number 8.
8. Wear water-proof make-up
(Stila Convertible Mascara, $22. Lancôme Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer, $27.50. Clinique Superfit Makeup, $20.50. Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner Duo, $25. Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencils, $19. Images and information from dailymakeover.com)
Yes, there are those make-ups that are specialized for those cold, rainy days. These make-ups won’t smudge or wear off even if they come in contact with water.
9. Do not be afraid to experiment with colors!
Rainy days doesn’t have to be all gloomy and boring. Don’t be afraid to wear bright, fun and playful colors. As much as possible experiment and play with colors.
Remember, not because the weather is gloomy and depressing, your mood and fashion also has to be. Wear something you love, and don’t let the weather decide for you.
